Identification of Aquifer Layers in Determining the Depth of Dug Wells
Abstract
An identification study of aquifer layers has been carried out in determining the depth of dug wells in Cendana Village, Burau District, East Luwu Regency. Aim to determine the depth of aquifers as a first step in making and extracting drinking water wells. In this study, data acquisition used Schlumberger configuration type geoelectric resistance method on 4 (four) tracks, with a track length of 200 meters each. Geoelectric data processing was performed by using IP2WIN software, and then 2D (2-dimensional) modeling using ArcGIS software and 3D (3-dimensional) modeling using Surfer software. Data interpretation is finished by matching resistivity values as a result of processing data with resistivity tables in the geological map of the research area. The results show that aquifer is at a depth of 8-42.71 meters with a resistivity value of 31.89-56.8 on track 1, while it is at a depth of 9-27.88 meters with a resistivity value of 57.25-60.19 . On track 3, the location of the aquifer is at a depth of 3-25.08 meters with a resistivity value of 14.71-57.84 whilst it is at a depth of 2.6-49.59 meters with a resistivity value of 9.99 -51.35 Ωm on the track 4. In summary, it can be seen that the material in the aquifer layer is sand material at the depth of excavation 7-49.59 meters below sea level.
